Air Conditioning Inspections - just a year left to go.

By Jan 2011, businesses will need to have an air conditioning inspection carried out. The inspection relates to the Energy Performance Directive 2007.

The inspection focuses on several areas and ensures that the air conditioning system installed, is most energy efficient for its purpose. The inspections is in addition to the F Gas regulations, which include the maintenance of the air conditioning unit.

Our association company Cavendish Engineers is low carbon consultant accredited and can therefore carry out this service.

For a free fact sheet on this subject and a quotation, please don't hesitate to contact our sales department.

For full details on F Gas regulation please download our F Gas fact sheet .

DX Electrica now Trust Mark accreditted.

Quite a few air conditioning systems still contain R22 refrigerant. Due to its environmental impact, the EU has phased this gas out.

From 1 st Jan 2010 – it will be illegal to use virgin HCFC to service RAC equipment. Note, this ban applies even if HCFC was purchased before the ban date. It is illegal to stockpile and use any supplies of virgin HCFCs after the end of 2009.

It will remain legal to continue using RAC equipment containing HCFC beyond the phase out dates proving they do not require maintenance that involves putting any HCFCs back into a system.

This phase out will affect our customers who currently have their R22 units maintained.

There are many alternatives to R22, which is most cost effective to run. Please see our R22 page for more details or call our sales team for more details.
